The exam is held to get admission in the 190 unaided private colleges of engineering. It is a computer-based test conducted for undergraduates who want to take admissions in BE/B. Tech courses and the application fee for appearing in this test is Rs. 1800/-
The exam is divided into three sections i.e. Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, and the duration of the exam is of three hours, one hour is for solving the mathematics section and the rest of the two hours is for solving Physics and Chemistry section. Each section consists of 60 questions i.e. 60 questions of Mathematics, 60 questions of Physics, and 60 questions of Chemistry, which makes it a total of 180 questions. All questions are multiple-choice questions and there is no negative marking in the exam.
The exam is held annually in the month of May and the results are out around June. Students can register for this exam from February to April.
